Akshay Kumar's much anticipated taboo film "PadMan" directed by R.Balki starring Radhika Apte and Sonam Kapoor as female lead is receiving good response from the classes ,but taken a decent opening because of less mass audience . "Padman" is inspired by the life of Arunachalam Murganantham and also written by a book by Kumar's wife "Twinkle Khanna". Padman collection in opening day was approximately 10.4 crore which a less as compared to Akshay's last films. Due to postpone of the film in Republic Day , the film missed the holidays.

Day 1 : 10.35 crore
Day 2 : 13.50 crore

Padman Total Collection in 2 Days : 23.85 crore (Domestic)

Young director R.Ajay Gnanamuthu 'Demonte Colony' fame has teamed up with actor Atharvaa for his second film titled as 'Imaikka Nodigal'.  This film touted to be an emotional thriller is being produced by C.J.Jeyakumar of Cameo Films banner. The film will have Nayanthara in an important role as an investigative officer. Tollywood actress Rashi Khanna will be making her Kollywood debut playing Atharvaa's love interest in this film.
